The Monarchy

Some nations have a monarch for a ceremonial head of state.  Do you support this? Is it a good use of tax dollars?  Does it promote tourism?  Is the president in the USA not much different, despite what is officially claimed?

Idk what you’re implying with the US president. Usually monarchs have very different roles nowadays. Most are just ceremonial and/or religious purposes. Then there’s the absolute monarchs who have full reign in government affairs.

The monarchy is part of UK culture, so attacking it pushes buttons, especially by outsiders. I am friendly with some British people. I'm not looking for drama.

A lot of British people are insecure and dislike the US to some extent. As with Canada, the monarchy is a way to show their pride.
