He's not really old enough to be losing his range yet, really you should be able to sing higher the longer you've been singing for, until you start losing it. In his case he probably just learned not to to that again so he doesn't have to duplicate it live, which can be really difficult.

I saw Muse for the tenth time on Saturday and it was so good I don't know what I'm going to do with the rest of my life. It's all downhill from here.
Matt's highest note is at about 4:47: http://youtu.be/3NZlwe4bwEE?t=4m40s I preferred the gasping shrieking style he had back then to the more radio-friendly lower register he tends to stick to these days.

Ten times? That's not even fair
yeah, I was thinking of that song. Awesome song. The singing on this song is phenomenal too:

Yup, ten. I'm quite the stalker. TBH the best one was probably their homecoming gig in Teignmouth a few years back. It was on the village green of the little seaside town where they grew up and they played songs from The Resistance for the first time. They also played the piano version of Cave, which was just... damn. It was a pretty special gig, made even better by a moonlit walk on the beach straight afterwards.
Microcuts is another one that gradually builds into a frenzy without you really noticing. I think that used to be kind of their trademark but they don't do it so much these days. It's a shame because it gets me hella pumped and nobody does it as well as they do.

I sorta feel like Muse has toned down their style a lot since the early days. As you said, Johnny, they don't really build up to a frenzy as much anymore. And that kinda is off-putting to me, because I really like that kind of thing...

Yeah, I expect they've toned down their lives somewhat from the old shroom-fuelled days, and that comes across. The musical talent is still there, but they've lost some of the endearing lunacy that set them apart.

Yea, I think Blacks Holes is my favorite all around album by them but the older album have most of my favorite songs. Some of them are just crazy
