Looking for a good LPS that's black similar to Matt Talbott's without having my wallet cry. Anyone have advice?

You can get the Epiphone version for like $400. If that's too expensive for you, I'm not sure what to tell you.

I'm willing to spend $700-$800. I'm more or less just trying to get a Gibson (just cause of the classic tone) That matches Matt Talbott's.

You can get pretty close with an Epiphone without breaking the bank. Or stalk Reverb.com for a good deal on a used one.

Tbh unless you have a trained ear, to know what to look for, you normally wonâ€t tell the difference with a blind sound test between a Gibson and an Epiphone. Youâ€d be surprised with guitarists like Noel Gallagher where he used an Epiphone Les Paul on Oasis†first album, and probably on their second.

I'm mainly specifying a Gibson however, only due to the fact that they make the studio models Which for some reason, Sound better to me.

But if you hook that sucker ( Or a Fender Prodigy) Up to an Orange CR120 (Because the OR120 makes me cry) with the right pedals, You'll have one of the chunkiest tones I've heard in awhile. I think you can get the same effect with a Gibson Explorer however. |
