It looks more tolerable with component cables, but any SD signal running into an HDTV is going to look like ass unless you spend money on a composite/component to HDMI converter box. Unless you're not using an HDMI cable on your PS3, the composite cables running into the HDTV is going to be ass.
Funny thing about all this, is that the only reason why I bought an HDTV at the time was because I couldn't read the text on some of my games. They made it to where the lext was unnecessarily tiny via the pack-in composite cable.

I'll probably get the component to HDMI thing in the future but not now.

I didn't pay for mine. It doesn't look amazing, but it does look better than just regular composite.

How is that much different than buying a console where it needs an update when you turn it on?
