Carl what's your music like if you don't mind saying? I'm imagining Sigur Ros-esque.

yeah i tried to keep myself from watching the school of rock reunion but i couldn't resist
they're so old now also could there be more gibson product placement?

Well they're playing at the Gibson Showroom, so that might be the only instruments they could use.

Forming a band maybe? Definitely the former. I only know two musician peers who already have their own established sound (one plays 'hardcore', the other just plays 'rock' like Green Day). If I'm ever in a group I don't want to play in a rock band unless it is Sigur Ros esque, or maybe a Muse-if-they-were-more-experimental type group. That's the direction I was heading in but now there's just some elements of that sound. My voice sounds like Jonsi's and I'm going to use the occasional atmospheric synth so the Sigur Ros influence will be obvious but it won't define my sound. I've long struggled to pull off playing pretty sounding classical and post-rock music while playing gritty, urban, pop-influenced music at the same time. Now I just see myself as a pop artist with a flamenco guitar and it's all taking shape more naturally. I still have a long way to go in perfectly shaping my sound which isn't something I can just force myself to do; it will have to be a natural progression. It'll mostly be guitar-based pop music (note that I don't mean that boring singer-songwriter stuff which I personally despise) that rips off flamenco, R&B and some other more rhythm based genres, but there will be some classical driven stuff too. Some will be on the piano, some guitar, and a few on electronic keyboards/drum machines. I don't want to rely on electronics too much though. Sounds like I still don't know what I want but I have progressed. :p I don't think anybody wanted my life-story but like I said, I'm still struggling a bit to define my music. Edit: Post-pop >_>
