If Monsters University isn't superb I'll have lost hope in Pixar. Never did see Brave but my conclusion from the stuff I've seen about it is that it's good but not the magic Pixar used to produce. If they fuck up a sequel to one of their more beloved films again they'll take quite the beating in the public's eye.

I just don't see how it is going to even compare. Monster's Inc was so good because it was really funny and it also a very good emotional side to it. I mean, I almost cry when he has to leave Boo Sad

This one looks like it's just going to be a bunch of cliched "college movie" jokes but in a G rated fashion

Give it the benefit of the doubt. This is the same studio that produced Up. One of the co-writers was a co-writer on Monsters, Inc. so I think they deserve a little credit (director worked on Toy Story 3 too, though I don't remember what he did).

Just watched Les Miserables, the 2012 one, again. I enjoyed it more this time but his camera and lens choices are still...ugh, why, Hooper? It feels like such a wasted opportunity. Especially Fantine's I dreamed a dream scene, jesus that could have been done better. And when Jean Valjean talks to Marius, his last 'Who am I?', that scene was filmed so terribly wrong.

Up was phenomenal. And just because they did one cash in sequel doesn't mean that the rest of their sequels will suck as well.

Brave was so mediocre it hurt. Dreamworks has put out a shit ton of movies better than Brave; Pixar is slowly losing their dominance on animated movies.

Now You See Me was good. It was kinda ridiculous, but I dig movies filled with "mind-games" and lots of twists and turns, even if that whole thing's kinda cliche now.

Also Jesse Eisenberg is so cool. He and Anna Kendrick should do porn together.

Monsters University looks dumb. Monsters Inc. is a great film that does not need a sequel/prequel. I still haven't seen Up or Brave. The only Dreamworks CGI films worth watching are Antz, maybe the first Shrek, and How to Train Your Dragon (even though it has a lot of cheesy stuff).

That's all I have to say about the Pixar conversation.

I'm going to try to watch The Godfather films soon since they are classic films I still haven't seen. I really need to get familiar with these types of films.

Skip Brave, watch Up. Tangled (by Dreamworks) is better than at least half of Pixar's films. And Shrek 2 is pretty good.

The Godfather parts 1 and 2 are both incredible.

Watching Prometheus again because it's a great movie for the most part. I don't understand why it pissed off so many people.
