Probably within the last few years, since hip hop is so popular nowadays and most artists put out albums like every year.

Good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar came out in 2012 yet is listed under the classic bracket.
Is this nastynate on here much? Got some explaining to do (lol).

Haha no he isn't. To be fair though that album is going to be a classic, no doubt about it.

Doubt I've ever heard a track off of it so I wouldn't know. Ought to set a cut off year though really since what's "classic" in terms of legacy is quite subjective whereas date isn't. I'd've thought the cut off would be in the late 90s since when I think of old hip hop I'm thinking of stuff on old style beats (vague description) but maybe others disagree. Could be done by date of album release or by date of a group/artist's first release (so then a group like Public Enemy would always go in the classic section since they made their first release in the 80s).
