Kind of. It's really mostly scene bands and stuff who called themselves metalcore and deathcore but weren't actually either. They share similarities but are usually much more upbeat and stuff like A Day To Remember sounds like metalcore guitars with Sum 41/blink 182 lyrics on top.

So yea, it's basically a "throw everything the elitists don't like" in here genre.

I like some of it though.

What's your take on Metalcore being considered punk on UG's bands and artists forum? Especially seeing BTBAM in the hardcore forum?

Yeah, has hardcore always been technically punk? I kinda assumed it was just a type of metal.

From my understanding, hardcore was just short for hardcore punk, but I could be wrong if hardcore is a separate genre from hardcore punk.

Metalcore bands are in the hardcore forum on UG. And BTBAM is now in the metal
Forum. I wish it wa back in the hardcore forum because them and mastodon are the only bands in the metal forum I like and the metal forum regs are awful.

Almost all the bands I listed, both here and in the punk forum, are in hardcore forum on UG. This setup is cool though

FrOm how it is on UG the hardcore forum is a mix of a lot of genres. Because there are so many sub genres in there.

Hardcore sounds a lot like hardcore punk to me. I'm not into to many of those bands though

The only straight up hardcore punk I listen to is old school replacements and Husker Du

Though Bob Mould kind of has an atrocious guitar tone.

Just a few corrections:

A Day To Remember is not pop metalcore, they are hardcore/pop-punk hybrid aka Easycore.
Other Easycore bands: Chunk, No Captain Chunk; I Wrestled A Bear Once, Close Your Eyes

Escape The Fate is post-hardcore with metalcore influences with a tinge of glam revival, often referred to as Glamcore.
Other Glamcore bands: Black Veil Brides, Falling In Reverse

Every Time I Die is not Modern Metalcore, it's southern riffing metallic hardcore. There is a difference between metalcore and metallic hardcore.

Other bands similar to Everytime I Die: Cancer Bats and Kvelertak (sort of...)

Kvelertak is ma boys from Norway.
