Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is already a weird manga, but the infamous Studio Shaft threw in their signature mindfucks and surrealist themes.
Typical Shaft:
It's definitely the most stylistic out of the three. Hyouka is also pretty artsy with it's scenery porn, other well drawn backgrounds, and attention to detail. Hyouka's studio has mastered the art of getting around the fact that you're just watching people sitting in a room talking.
Typical Shaft:
- Unreadably Fast Text
- Unmoving Plaid
- Camera showing whatever instead of the characters that are talking at the moment
- Pictures of real life objects
- Signature head tilt
- They will often, and for no reason, up the framerate and animation quality immensely, and can focus on incredibly mundane things.
