I think the guy has complained to the russians, but I don't think anything will come of it, or at least I hope that if it does the mods above me will stuck up for me. I mean I'm happy to concede that the warning might have been harsh, even if he was technically breaking the rules.
I've removed warnings/reverted bans in the past if I thought I was a bit harsh and the person saw why they were breaking the rules and agreed (although this guy is protesting).

So i mean, yeah, he's totally in the right, but warning someone for that especially when there's much worse things being posted all the time makes him look like a dickish mod. For people who don't know him that well, anyway
You should understand that the article comments are treated in a completely different way than the forums, stuff is posted all the time in the forums that would be deleted/maybe warned if it were in the comments.
'Band bashing' is routinely removed/warned in the comments, although we usually only go to the effort of warning if the language was a bit stronger than in this case.
I wouldn't have banned him for this either. But look at the guy's defence 'I've seen/posted band bashing for years and it's fine' - well, technically it isn't fine and all this warning is doing is informing of that.
