umm, they encompass a lot of stuff
Their first two albums, Self-Titled and The Silent Circus, were pretty much a ridiculously chaotic mixture of metalcore, death metal and grincore. I don't like them too much besides a song or two. It's just to much for me
Then they released Alaska which had elements of that stuff but was really melodic in parts. It also has Selkies, which is probably their most famous song.
Then came Colors, which transitioned even farther away from the really grindcory parts. The whole album s basically one song and is really proggy with the style switching constantly. This is probably their most beloved one
Then the Great Misdirect. It's ok. A lot like Colors, but just not as good imo
Lastly, the Parallax EP and Parallax II. Just pretty much straight up progressive metal. Still very heavy at parts, but a lot of clean stuff, both musically and vocally, was throw in too. These two are my favorites. Not really a fault to them ino
It's not for everyone. Outside of their first 2-3 albums though, I wouldn't really call the vocals style screaming. More growling, since it doesn't have highness to it. He does have an excellent voice when he sings though. And the instrumentation is amazing on all the albums.
I don't know, that's how I would describe them. WWF might have some corrections.
EDIT: To go back to Danjo said about it making him angry. I find it has the opposite effect depending on my mood. Like, I can listen to them to get me pumped if I'm exercising, but they also have a really soothing vibe sometimes. I think it's because I try not to sing along (Because it's almost impossible without a lyric sheet) so I just kinda zone out and take it all in.
