I enjoyed Shaun of the Dead more the second time as well, but it was the first movie I watched in the series.

Hot Fuzz is funnier, but then Shaun of The Dead has better characters IMO. Plus it has Dylan Moran.

Just watched Monster's Uni. It was good. The Mastodon song was actually very well-placed.

But was it Pixar good?

it was better than both Cars and Cars 2 if that answers your question

Anyone seen the 2011 Jane Eyre film? I watched it today. Never have I seen such a pretentious adaptation. It was basically a recounting of the novel. "This happened, then this happened, remember this? Then this happened".
Don't get me wrong, stellar performances (especially from Judy Dench), but that's about it. They feel wasted. The first hour feels like a trailer and the second depends entirely on the first, which pretty much assumed that everyone in the audience read the novel. It didn't bother setting up stakes for the characters: "He hit her! She moved her to Lowood! They're kissing! She isn't happy about her inheritance!", totally ignored why those things happened. It's really sad too cuz it's the second time I've seen Wasikowska act in this self-satisfied, vaguely pretentious film (first being Stoker), and I really like her. What's worse is I'm afraid it's the kind of adaptation I'D write, maybe not direct, but write. :p Adele and Rochester were pretty damn spot on, though. The performances were so good that I feel like I'm missing something.

So I just learned that Pixar are making 'Planes', which is basically Cars but with planes. They just don't give up.

I loved Cars 2 but I was high as fuck and watching it in 3D. Actually I have no idea what it's about now, though I had a pretty good grasp then.

:haha:
I haven't seen Cars 2, mainly because Cars was pretty 'meh', IMO, so I wasn't interested. But after all the negativity about it, I was even less interested. JoelCarli Wrote:Well curiosity killed the Maps.

Only a few weeks until the trilogy is complete.
