My guitar has a floyd and it's gorgeous. I almost never have problems with it and it stays in tune for a while.

There are some slight differences between them and FR originals. (I've a guitar repair book that discusses some of the differences, but it's at home and I'm at school, lol.) Ok, the OP has been edited to reflect proper techniques of setup and retuning. I think the pictures should be very helpful for people.
My friend has a guitar with a licensed floyd, but that guitar has a crazy fucked up neck, haha. You can tune it but the thing will move like a whole step out of tune in a matter of seconds just trying to play it. Its an RR3 with a reverse neck/headstock, and I guess the original owner did something weird with the neck, but then when my friend took it in to get something fixed they completely fucked the neck. He hasn't bothered to buy a new neck for it yet.
Basically I'm saying this because I've used a licensed one, but I didn't really have a good chance to be objective about it. I've never played a real one for more than a second or two at GC or something.

Well...tell your friend to replace his guitar neck, lol.

I think part of it is that the reverse headstock ones are cooler, but he can't really find one of those online. And also the neck would be fairly expensive relative to the actual worth of the guitar.
