It's really this, a lot of people were doing it just so they didn't feel left out. I don't really see the need to get all emotional over someone I don't know die. So I feel that it's disrespectful to pretend to be crying over someone you don't know died, just so you can fit in.
It's like a few weeks ago when I saw a memorial page for a girl I graduated with who died in her sleep. While it did suck that she died because she had a seizure while she was asleep but, I recalled everyone kind of hated her in high school because she was one of those weird people who was also super annoying. So I could tell that all these people I know from school posting all these "happy memories" were all faking it because those same people always bitched about how she was such an irritating person.
