By insomnia, do you mean actual insomnia, or just sleeplessness?
It might be worth seeing a therapist. Like Bob says, working on it yourself is not for everyone, but it might be a solution nonetheless. Start small with things only make you slightly uncomfortable, and work your way up to your worse situations, building confidence. Ultimately, whether it's with a therapist or not, only you can overcome it, as cheesy as that sounds.
