Yup. I'm not too big on their last 2 albums, but WtF is good.

lol, "wtf".

It's like the other day, when for some unknown reason I felt like listening to Naked City (a band featuring John Zorn). They have the weirdest and most extreme avant-garde music ever, and I normally dislike really heavy and bizarre music, and yet I still felt like listening to John Zorn going ape on the sax while I was working, even if I'm not a fan.

I really dislike the first one that's name escapes me

Waking the Fallen is really good

City of Evil is ok. Used to love it but it seems bland now. M.I.A. is an awesome song

A7X is pretty good. A couple songs are meh, but I like how it's different than others. Lost and A Little Piece of Heaven are two of my favs

Nightmare is ok. Some cool songs but some of it is cringey

I don't like the new one at all

Carlcockatoo's guide to A7X:

1.Sounding the Seventh Trumpet: More of a novelty album tbh since it's their first. Never listen to it but I think I remember some good moments.
2.Waking the Fallen: Great album considering I don't typically like that style.
3.City of Evil: Also really good, but corny A7X starts to appear here. Most interesting instrumentally, some very strong moments, some meh moments, some awful moments ('Seize the Day' especially).
4. Self titled: My personal favourite. Same as above but there are more good moments and the bad moments aren't near as bad.
5. Nightmare: A couple good songs, some songs are bad, most songs are meh with a few standout moments (the intro/outro to 'Victim' for example). This is when they start to go down hill and corny A7X is more prevalent than non-corny A7X.
6.Hail to the King: Fucking awful. 2/10 at best. Sorry. :/

Yea, I agree with all of that, except for WtF being my fav instead of A7X, like I said

RE: 2 pɐǝɹɥʇ ʎʇıunɯɯoɔ - carlcockatoo - 10-31-2014

Have you seen videos from their live shows recently?

They got a lot worse at that too. Shadows basically just wheezes now. I feel a little bad for them though because it used to be they had huge crowds and headlined shows. Recent videos that I've seen of them show them playing in daylight to smaller audiences. I know they're still really popular though.

That pretty much sums up their first album. Hardly any singing. Still maybe 2 decent songs.

This, but I also really liked Nightmare. Not every track, but definitely some good stuff in there imo.

I still haven't given a thorough listen to their last album. But I did like/tab out the song Heretic.

Also, am I the only person in the world who hates A Little Piece of Heaven?

RE: 2 pɐǝɹɥʇ ʎʇıunɯɯoɔ - WCPhils - 11-01-2014

I like it because I can play it on piano and it's fun. Probably would be indifferent towards it if I couldn't

I haven't, but that doesn't surprise me. I know he's had vocal problems for a while now. And yea, I know they're still popular but it seems like that genre has been dying down a bit lately. Though I guess it may just be because I'm aging out of their target demo.

RE: 2 pɐǝɹɥʇ ʎʇıunɯɯoɔ - carlcockatoo - 11-01-2014

'A Little Piece of Heaven' is still their best song for me. w/e I get how you can not like it. In a way it's corny but it doesn't sound like it's trying too hard to me so they still get away with that aspect of it. It's fun and memorable and minus guitar solos it has everything A7X is best at.

let's be real though Slipknot is the only band from that era of 2 edgy fourteen year old metal that still has it. And I'd still take Vol 3 over anything A7X ever did. Sorry I know you're all tired of me saying this but I've been fanboying so hard since the new album dropped. :p

That's ok. I'm a big Silverstein fanboy.
Of the 165 tabs I've done, 43 of them are from Silverstein. Including 2 complete albums.
I've made a habit of it, so once it gets released, I'll probably tab out next year's album as well.
