I get along with everyone pretty much. I have friends who are super jocks, ones really into music, and one who write reviews on gaming sites and blogs.

I think it kinda comes across online too. I don't really rub many people the wrong way. Maybe I'm just boring and uncontroversial :p

The only people who I'm not friends with are the Due types who can only talk about injustices in the world. Basically any anthropology major at school. They're all ridiculously stuck up

It's like the greatest worst thing you'll ever see. It gets really busy near the end of the month when everybody's welfare checks have run out.

Oh yeah, we had this for a bit. It was called like "(name of town or school or something)'s rachet"

It was really dumb. It was basically anonymous trash talking about people, mostly girls. One of my friends had something posted about her on there and she couldn't stop crying in class from it. It didn't seem like a big deal to me but it really messed her up. I was really shitty at trying to console her over it I think

So high school really is dumb. I've been paying more attention to the social aspect more and my school is full of '2/10 wouldn't bang' types. Such is life in rich suburbia.

that's everywhere with highschool aged people :p

out of curiosity, how do you dress?

Today I wore a blue t-shirt with black jeans. Sometimes I wear a shirt with a collar, which is apparently childish.

My old high school sucked in many ways but it was nothing like this lol. This place feels like middle school all over again, except this time it's with very spoilt people who won't talk to you over stupid things like what car you drive. Instead of being made fun of for making dumb comments like before I'm being avoided because my teeth aren't perfectly white. There were a handful of people like that at my old school (my old school had a bizarre combination of people) but here it's as if you took that 5-10% of people and made it 90%. Overall everyone here is like a carbon copy of each other, yet they are very exclusionary. Every new student I have talked to feels the same way (I've been here for a year now and I still feel new lol). My only 'friend' if you can call him that is moving next year because he has experienced the same thing.

Just so we're clear, I'm not trying to make it sound like I'm bullied or anything, I'm mostly mocking the situation.

Edit: There is a rumour site for my school too but I have never looked at it. I have not met anyone who takes it seriously but if it's there there must be an audience.

Actually what's really bad is that I'm responding to it now so I've basically become just like them.

Look at me, criticising people over the internet.

RE: Community Thread 2: Debbie's Reverse Harem. - WCPhils - 08-16-2013

hmm, sounds crappy. Most everyone here just wears short/jeans and t-shirts. And jeans and hoodies in the winter. I like button ups with the sleeves rolled up too like this

Never cared for polo shirts.

They wouldn't even be able to make fun of my car though since I've never had one :p

I know a few anthro peeps who are cool, they were cool with other history nerds. Though I do know several who fit the Due stereotype, but I hate philosophy majors the worst. They're all basically like Craigo and Captaincrunk where they think they're super smart, not only because they're atheist, but also because they think philosophically and talk down to everyone like they're inferior beings.

RE: Community Thread 2: Debbie's Reverse Harem. - carlcockatoo - 08-16-2013

@Phils: I don't have one either (I can drive my dad's car sometimes). I still ride the bus as a senior, which is a huge taboo.

Edit: And yeah, I wear them like that. I don't care for polos either.

I haven't met many philosophy majors tbh. I don't think it has a very big department at my school. Most antro majors are terrible though. Not all, obviously, but I've met a lot who just bug me so much. And it's kinda funny because they're all really into the hardcore scene in Philadelphia. So they're basically the UG hardcore forum. :haha:

@ Will. I've never heard those described as childish. If anything, I think they look mature. That's really weird. Screw those people and just do what you do! Smile

RE: Community Thread 2: Debbie's Reverse Harem. - Grungie - 08-16-2013

I should stay away from hardcore scenes if they're all like that now. I could be bigoted, but personally I think people who are big on schooling others on racism and sexism are probably closet racists and sexists themselves and are trying to compensate for it. Cuz if you're either worrying about whether or not what you or someone is doing is offensive to a specific group of people or sniffing out what people say or situations that are the slightest bit racist or sexist just to school them; you kind of have to be in a racist/sexist mindset to notice some of the shit those people think up.

RE: Community Thread 2: Debbie's Reverse Harem. - carlcockatoo - 08-16-2013

Speaking of the race discussion, in my government class we are required to watch the Anderson Cooper show for homework every week (how dumb is that), write a paper on the episode, and debate it in class the following day.

This week is it about New York's stop-and-frisk laws and racial disadvantages. Most of the people around here are either straight up racist or have not been exposed to these issues. This is going to be good.

By the way I'm not a prick about these issues in real life.

This is what I always think. I don't get how they see racism and sexism in some of this stuff.
