Metallica songs are harder to play from a guitarist's perspective anyway, regardless of the fact that Tool is better. :p

Roughly a real comment I read about Tool by a 'so deep' fan.

Obviously it's not because Metallica is more popular than Tool.
Or, you know, because Metallica has been around longer...

I don't think that makes that big of a difference if people doing the covers are around our age or younger.
Not really, no. But it does have a bit of an impact, since more older brothers/fathers/uncles/etc. are probably introducing younger people to Metallica, simply because some people in their 30s and 40s grew up on that stuff.

Just saw this on the UG front page Tool article about a new ablum in 2014. Some guy asked what people see in Tool and stated he was curious. Here's one of the responses:

Quote:Tools music is not just music. They open up new ideas new ways of thinking and explore so many emotions all in one song! I mean I wouldnt expect normal listeners to understand things like The Fibonacci sequence, or like next step genetics like in 46&2. so so much more to their music then the common rock sound you hear spewed on the radio

And this is why we can't have nice things!

When I first started reading it I was sure that dude was trolling but by the time I got to the end I'm not so sure

RE: Tool - Grungie - 07-17-2013

I don't get what's so "deep" about the Fibonacci sequence when Tool fans jack off over it.

Isn't it really just a number sequence?

RE: Tool - wwf - 07-17-2013

But it's ever spiraling or some other shit i don't really give a fuck about

RE: Tool - Grungie - 07-17-2013

Someone on youtube said something about "it's math's relationship between human and nature"

Cool story bro
